According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, relapse rates for addiction are actually lower than that of hypertension and asthma by about 10%.
The data suggests that outpatient addiction treatment clinics result in increased employment rates, improved perceptions of physical and mental health, decreased severity of drug use, and better overall health. This is exactly what treatment success looks like.

I like what you said on your first statement that addiction is not a choice because people do not choose to relapse. However, it’s good to know that opioid addiction has a treatment now. I have a brother who is currently suffering with the same addiction as mentioned. For his fast recovery, I hope I can find a clinic or a rehabilitation center for my brother Jed.
