AOC was founded in 2007 by Dr. Nicholas Atanasoff, who saw the rising opioid epidemic characterized by the abuse of heroin, fentanyl, and pain pills in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Dr. Atanasoff started prescribing a relatively new drug at the time called Suboxone® which includes a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone to help eliminate withdrawal symptoms and cravings. When combined with monthly behavioral counseling sessions enables patients to focus on their recovery while returning to their lives faster than when enrolled in traditional opioid addiction treatment programs.
Dr. Atanasoff has expanded his practice into eight clinics, with much of the growth driven by referrals from current and former patients. Since its founding, AOC has helped several thousands of patients in Ohio and Pennsylvania recover from opioid addiction and regain their lives.
Dr. Atanasoff earned his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Atanasoff has been practicing addiction treatment medicine since 2000 and founded Addiction Outreach Clinic in 2007 when he saw the rising heroin and pain pill addiction epidemic in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Dr. Atanasoff understands the need for a results-driven, common-sense approach to opioid treatment for patients based on their lifestyle, work commitments and other responsibilities.
As a dedicated healthcare professional, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of Addiction Outreach Clinic, LTD where I am committed to providing compassionate care and support to individuals struggling with opioid addiction. With a passion for improving the lives of others, I strive to make a positive impact in the field of healthcare and continue to advocate for those in need of assistance.
