AOC was founded in 2007 by Dr. Nicholas Atanasoff, who saw the rising heroin and pain medication addiction epidemic in Ohio and Pennsylvania and understood the need for a results-driven, common-sense treatment approach for patients based on their lifestyle, work commitments and other responsibilities.

Dr. Atanasoff started prescribing a relatively new drug at the time called Suboxone® which includes a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone to help reduce/prevent cravings and withdrawal symptoms. This medication, combined with a required monthly behavioral counseling session, enables patients to focus on their recovery efforts while returning to their lives faster than traditional opioid addiction treatment programs, which may require up to 20 counseling appointments per month.
Dr. Atanasoff has expanded his practice into eight clinics, with much of the growth driven by referrals from current and former patients. Since its founding, AOC has helped several thousands of patients in Ohio and Pennsylvania recover from opioid addiction and regain their lives.
Dr. Atanasoff earned his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Atanasoff has been practicing addiction treatment medicine since 2000 and founded Addiction Outreach Clinic in 2007 when he saw the rising heroin and pain medication addiction epidemic in Ohio and Pennsylvania. As a dedicated healthcare professional, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of Addiction Outreach Clinic, LTD where I am committed to providing compassionate care and support to individuals struggling with addiction. With a passion for improving the lives of others, I strive to make a positive impact in the field of healthcare and continue to advocate for those in need of assistance.
