Outpatient Opioid Addictoin Treatment

A common misconception with opioid addiction treatment programs and heroin rehab clinics is that there are not enough beds for care. But in-patient care is not necessarily better than outpatient care, in many ways it can be worse, and in the long-term maintaining sobriety can be even more difficult.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Our team of physicians and counselors work together to develop a results-driven treatment plan that is appropriate, effective, and individualized to our patient’s needs. Opioids: Prescription Pills and Heroin

Understanding opioids can get confusing, there are many different types of opioids from prescription pain pills to street drugs. Prescription opioids come in many different forms each with several different brand variations while street opioids are available majorly in two forms, Heroin and Fentanyl.

Addiction Outreach Clinic has many physicians and medical professionals with years of experience treating addiction to a very large variety of these opioids and helping hundreds of people successfully achieve a path to recovery.

Something to keep in mind is that physicians and doctors may refer to all opioids as narcotics. A narcotic is a general term that refers to any opioid.

To better help you understand which types of opioid addictions AOC can help you with, see our classifications below:

Prescription Opiates and Common Brand Names

Oxycodone: Percocet, Oxycontin, Roxicodone, Xtampza ER

Hydrocodone: Vicodin, Lortab, Norco, Lorcet

Codeine: None

Morphine: MS-Contin, Duramorph, Inumorph P/F, Arymo ER

Tramadol: Ultram, ConZip

Methadone: Methadose, Diskets, Dolophine

Hydromorphone: Dilaudid, Exalgo ER

Meperidine: Demerol

Fentanyl: Duragesic, Subsys, Abstral

Street Opioids

Heroin

Heroin is the most common recreational opioid used due to its rapid onset of action. Tolerance can develop rapidly which leads to quicker addiction.

Fentanyl

Fentanyl is not only a prescription drug but also a synthetic opioid which is illegally produced for street use. Fentanyl can be 30-50 times stronger than heroin and 80-500 times more powerful than morphine, even the smallest dose can cause death, usually by respiratory failure.

Pain pills are opioids that are legitimately prescribed medications that may be abused when diverted to the street for recreational purposes.
